Life Of Asin...
Asin’s father Joseph Thottumkal is a businessman while her mother Seline is a doctor. Asin attended the Naval Public School in Cochin and later on completed her Junior College from St. Theresa’s Higher Secondary School. She has a degree in BA from St Theresa's College.Asin began her career as a businesswoman before entering filmdom.Asin is brand ambassador for various products such as Fairever, Tanishq, BIG 92.7 FM, Spinz, Parachute, Colgate and Mirinda. Her breakthrough in films came with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi (Telugu) where she starred opposite Ravi Teja.Asin's first Tamil film was M Kumaran, Son Of Mahalakshmi in 2004. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.Asin's Dasavathaaram (Tamil) opposite Kamal Hassan released in 2008 and was also appreciated, though it was not a big hit. This film was to be dubbed in eight languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Marathi and Hindi. Her 2005 movie Ghajini with Surya, which was released simultaneously in both Tamil and Telugu, was a mega hit in both languages. Asin also stars in the film's remake in Hindi with the same title, with Aamir Khan opposite her. The Hindi Ghajini has broken all previous box-office opening week records for Bollywood, garnering Rs 900 million worldwide until last count.Asin has shifted base to Lokhandwala, Mumbai and is currently shooting for Vipul Amrutlal Shah's London Dreams opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. Mumbai: As the London Dreams is set to release this Friday, 30th October. The news relating to its stars are reaveling one after the other.Firstly, the story of Salman Khan's incredible chemistry with Asin Thottumkal on the sets of London Dreams broke out. Then the news of his fight with her father took over.
The unit of the film has started opening up, as the release of London Dreams is drawing near.
Asin has finally come out to clarify on the reported fight between Salman and her dad Joseph Thottumkal.
She simply refused towards the news that her dad and Salman had fightings or any sort of disliking for Salman on the sets of London Dreams.
She told that they get along like a house on fire and are very buddy buddy with each other.
They gang up against me and pull my leg. In fact, I am the odd one out when they are together.
Infact, they are such good friends that despite his busy schedule, Salman painted a portrait of my dad, signed it and gifted it to him. That's the rapport they share. I really don't know where these stories are coming from," she said.

London Dreams advance booking opens today
The advance booking for the much-hyped film London Dreams in single screen theatre starts today. However, the advance booking in multiplexes will open only on Wednesday.
The success of Salman Khan's Wanted in the single screen theatres seems to have made the makers of London Dreams to bank on it again. It is said that Salman would sell tickets of the film at Delite theatre from 11.30 am onwards.
London Dreams directed by Vipul Shah features Salman, Ajay Devgn and Asin Thottumkal in the lead roles. It is set for release this Friday, 30th October.
Salman Khan fans beaten up by police
Salman Khan is in the news again neither for his splendid performance in Wanted nor for the debacle of his latest release Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. He is in the news for his upcoming release London Dreams. However, his fans were beaten up the police.
The incident took place at Nehru Stadium in Indore, where Salman was scheduled to play a cricket match as part of promotion for his film London Dreams where he acts with Ajay Devgn and Asin Thottumkal. However, the actor turned up five hours late for the event. He left the venue after a few minutes without playing the match.
This enraged his fans, who have came from various parts of the city to watch him scatter the ball all over the stadium. They turned violent and begun to throw chairs all around. The police resorted to lathi-charge, the situation turned worse.
The police said that the crowd went berserk, as Salman who was supposed to reach the stadium at 10. am turned up at 3 pm. Adding more fuel to the fire, he left the venue after a few minutes.
Looks like Salman is doing more harm than good to London Dreams by disappointing his fans.
London Dreams has no similarity with 'Rock On': Vipul Shah
Bollywood director Vipul Shah says his upcoming film 'London Dreams', a story about a struggling band, is a "wholesome" entertainment but dismisses that the film has any resemblance to Farhan Akhtar starrer 'Rock On!'.
Both films revolve around the story of a struggling rock band but Shah says the similarity ends there.
"'Rock on' was in the recent past. I would be a fool to make a film, which is a copy of 'Rock on' or any other film," Shah said in a video conference.
The film, which hits theatres on October 30 stars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Asin Thottumkal in key roles.
Rather than make a novel contribution to Indian cinema, Shah candidly described his work as a wholesome, fun film for audience around the globe.
"You can't plan a film thinking you're gong to contribute to cinema. I make cinema because I like making films, I love making films," Shah said about the film.
'London Dreams' revolves around a young man's travails to make it big in the music business. The main protagonist Arjun (Ajay Devgn) struggles to get his band ready for a grand finale at the Wembly stadium. Dreams are realized as his childhood friend, Mannu (Salmaan Khan) a perpetual loafer "sees the light" and joins him.
Incidentally, they happen to fall in love with the same girl, which creates a friction between the childhood friends.
The movie appears to bank on the foreign locations from Rome to Paris, catchy music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and grand concert scenes, which have received a great deal of care, attention and money.
Shah notes that while Rock on was made for a certain segment of society, 'London Dreams' would appeal "to one and all."
"Rock on was not catering to the entire world...we are trying to cater to the entire world."
The Indian director says tremendous effort went into the production of concert scenes. "The way we shot the concerts, you'll see something for the first time as big as this. That will be hugely different," Shah added.
